Ingredients
  • Kashmiri Fish >3 kgs - If not available can use Ruvas bengali (fresh water fish)
  • Turmeric Powder
  • Salt Nadru - Lotus Stem (can use dried nadru as well)
  • Thinly Chopped onion 1 cup
  • Kashmiri Saag (alternatives - Fresh greeny vegetable available at Philipino market or store ..we hav Kanna leaves nd alternatives like mooli ka saag
  • Radish cut into round thick slices
  • Garlic 5-6 cloves
  • Ginger spices (whole)...
  • 3-4 ilaicigreen
  • ,2-3 badi ilaichi....
  • 1 piece small cinnamon...
  • 2-3 cloves...
  • sounf
  • Red chilli powder
  • Tomatoes 3-4
Cuisine: Cooking time: 15 mins Serving: 2 people

1. Cut the fish into 2 inch wide peices after cleaning it (descaling, washing)
2. Wash the fish and rub with some turmeric powder nd salt…keep it aside for a while…
3. If using dried nadru – Keep 1 cup wit water for 5-7 mins in water in microwave high till they regain their original form. Else, use routine nadru
4. Blanch Kashmiri Saag
5. Cut Mujj (radish) into thick slices
6. Make a paste of garlic and ginger
7. Grind all the spices and add red chilli powder. To this add 1 glass of water.
8. Take about 2 cups of oil (best is mustard oil, but corn oil wil also do). Deep fry frish until red and crispy. You need to be patient while frying fish in a non-stick utensil so that it doesnt break. Set aside.
9. Filter the remaining oil and in that fry onion – Fry onion golden brown (if have praan, better taste and aroma) – then ground in mixer
10. In the remaining oil fry nadru and then set aside.
11. In remainin oil, fry radish and set aside.
12. Add Haaq to the oil. Add ginger garlic paste, wari (3×3 inch chunk), add tomatoes, ginger powder 1 tspn. Add other vegetables and onion paste. To this add 2-3 green ilachi and 1 badi ilaichi whole. Simmer for a few mins till vegetables are half done.
13. Add fish now – stir softly- add the red chilli poweder/ ground spices and and salt to taste. Simmer for about 10 mins, till the oil seperates.

Important:
don’t add more water ..water shd b enough to just cover the fish..not drown them …:) otherwise masala will not stick to fish …

    mouth watering recipe gaad nadru saag tamater… hmmmm.. bt wana add one more important ingredient to it, rather most important eskay bina gaad gaad nahi kehlati chef ji.. dats dhaniya seeds coriander seeds need to be roasted in a pan for a while n whn thy turn lil brown just blend thn in nyaim. add it wen u have put all the spicesin ur dish. it gives gaad a real mazdaar taste n aroma u will never forget…. yummy..
